New Job, New Confidence: Umur's Journey to Meaningful Employment

Over the past eight months, Employment Specialist Yamirah worked closely with Umur, a participant who came to Easterseals New Jersey with a clear goal: finding meaningful, competitive employment. From the start, Umur stood out for his determination. He attended weekly meetings, showed up to interviews and job fairs, and consistently arrived with a positive attitude — even when the process took time.

Throughout their work together, Yamirah and Umur focused on strengthening his confidence and preparing thoroughly for each opportunity. Umur placed his trust in the process, and that trust paid off.

Today, Umur is successfully employed at Business Crediting Services, a position he genuinely enjoys. As he prepares to transition into long-term follow-along support (LTFA), he reflected on what made the difference: "You were a big part, and a supportive, nice lady, and that's very important and very personable."
