Easterseals New Jersey to Host Free Webinar with State Legislators on New Jersey Property Tax Relief

JAMESBURG, N.J. — Easterseals New Jersey will host a free public webinar on Monday, September 28, 2026, from 2:00 to 2:30 p.m., bringing New Jersey residents face to face with two members of the State Assembly to talk about property tax relief.

Assemblyman Sterley Stanley of District 18 and Assemblywoman Aura Dunn of District 25 will walk through the state's Stay NJ, Senior Freeze, and ANCHOR programs in plain language and take questions directly from attendees.

The webinar comes as eligible New Jersey residents approach the November 2, 2026 application deadline. New Jersey now covers all three programs through a single combined application, a change many longtime recipients are still unaware of.

"An important piece of implementing these property tax relief programs is communicating to constituents that these benefits are available and making sure everyone eligible takes advantage of the opportunity. That is what this half hour is for," said Assemblyman Sterley Stanley.

"Property tax relief is not a partisan issue. Families on fixed incomes are being squeezed, the deadline is real, and the application process should not be the thing that stops someone from getting help they have earned," said Assemblywoman Aura Dunn.

"Property tax relief programs only work if people know they exist and understand how to apply," said Evan Collier, Sr. Advocacy Leader at Easterseals New Jersey. "Our job here is to bring the information to the community and put people in the same room with the legislators who can answer their questions."

Who should attend

The webinar is free and open to any New Jersey resident. It is aimed at homeowners 65 and older, at renters who may qualify through ANCHOR, and at the adult children, caregivers, and family members who often handle the paperwork. Staff at senior centers, public libraries, and township offices are also encouraged to attend and to share the information with the people they serve.

American Sign Language interpretation and live captioning will be provided. Attendees may join by phone as well as by computer. A recording will be emailed to everyone who registers, whether or not they attend.
