Linkages Transitional Housing Program Easter Seals Celebrates the Graduation of Twenty Women from its Linkages Transitional Housing Program Last month, a celebration was held for 20 graduates of Easter Seals' Linkages Program -- a transitional housing program where homeless mothers receive the tools necessary to cope with the demands of motherhood, learn or increase skills in order to find employment, pursue educational goals, and provide a stable home life for themselves and their families. In addition to the Linkages graduates and staff members, also in attendance were several employees from Monmouth County agencies and other community providers. The graduates were presented with certificates, commended for all of their hard work, and given the opportunity to share how Easter Seals has impacted their lives through the Linkages program. “Linkages helped me to overcome my fears and take control of my life," shared one of the twenty graduates. “Because of this program, I know that my children and I will be just fine when we get back out into the ‘real world’.” It was also noted that of the 20 program graduates, two also obtained their GED, one graduated from “Project Free”, one enrolled in Georgian Court University, two graduated from “Computer Insight” (a program that teaches various business skills), and five graduated from the “LTC (CNA/Home Health Aide program). How can YOU help make a difference in the lives of the women & children at Linkages?
